Oldham Engineering Installations are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a mechanical installation contract from Dematic Ltd. for the Tesco, Fenny Lock – System Enhancements Project.

The project started on Monday 18th April 2016 and will be running for 12 weeks, ~72 days on site. During this time OEI will been completing the installation of Phases 1 to 7, using a team of 15 engineers at peak times in the programme.

Oldham Engineering Installations have been breaking into the existing system and removing redundant conveyors / equipment and as part of these enhancement works. Dematic have placed the manufacture of the conveyors for this project with Conveyor Unit’s, which OEI are confident with the installation process of their conveyors.

The conveyor types and equipment, which have been installed as part of this project, include but are not limited to the following

  • Roller & Belt Conveyors.
  • Switch Sorters.
  • Curves & Junctions.
  • Diverts & Merges.
  • Chutes & Work Benches.

Oldham Engineering Installations are working 12 day  ‘2 week periods’ with their engineers traveling home every second weekend. This is to ensure that all break in’s to the existing system can be completed during quite periods, hopefully reducing the down time of the system, thus ensuring that Tesco can meet their logistical demands.
