Oldham Engineering Installations are thrilled to announce that they have been awarded a mechanical installation contract from Fairport Engineering Ltd. for the Costain, Bredbury – Various Enhancements Project.

The project started on Thursday 11th June 2015 and will be running 5 weeks, ~28 days on site. During this time OEI will be completing modifications to the existing system including the removal of the shredder machine, using a 50 tonne City Crane.

Our Operations Director has participated in a CPCS accredited Appointed Persons course to supplement his original qualification (Appointed Person BS7121). This has allowed OEI to complete several technical lifts, which are required as part of this project. As a result of this, a significant cost saving on contract lifts has been made for our client and their customer. The engineers on site have also completed a CPCS Forklift Truck course to complement their existing RTITB forklift certificates; Costain requested these training standards at the outset of the project.

The equipment types to be installed / removed as part of this project include but are not limited to the following:

• Steelwork Support Structures.
• Platforms Including Staircases.
• Shredder Machine & Takeaway Conveyors.
• ECS Separator complete with Vibratory Feeder & Separator Hood.
• Various Chutes.

Oldham Engineering Installations understand the health and safety risks that can be involved when working within the recycling industry. We try to help reduce site worries by offering support such as; full and detailed method statements, risk assessments and lifting plans for all operations on site. Oldham Engineering Installations are always willing to undertake extra training in order to complete any project.
