Oldham Engineering Installations are proud to announce that they have been awarded a mechanical installation contract from Dematic Ltd. for JD Williams, Shaw – Project Dyson.

This project started on Monday 11th July 2016 and will be running continuously for 6 weeks, with a team of 9 engineers at peak times in the programme. During this time OEI will be completing minor enhancements to the existing, tote handling and storage system, along with the Installation of a new dispatch line.

Following the successful installation of Project Sapphire back in 2015, OEI have been given the opportunity to complete the installation of new despatch line used for transporting various different sized packages to the direct despatch area in the new sapphire building. These belt conveyors will be fitted with bespoke pan guarding to ensure that the packaged goods do not get damaged during transportation. Project Dyson also includes minor modifications to the existing system and mezzanine alterations to suit the layout of the new conveyors.

The conveyor types and equipment, which will be installed as part of this project, include but are not limited to the following:

  • • Belt Conveyors.
  • • Various Gravity Chutes.
  • • Mobile Manual Chute complete with Frame.
  • • Stepovers, Fencing Etc.
  • • Modifications to existing Mezzanine.
